They were released to her husband, E. Rosenfeld, at 97 Suffolk St. NY. They had $18 between them. Reiwke had brown hair and brown eyes, and Chaje had fair hair and grey eyes. Per the 1920 US Census, Elias (48), Rebecca (44), Clara (22), and Dora (13) were living at 292 Bedford Avenue, Brooklyn. Elias immigrated in 1907, the girls immigrated in 1908. Elias was naturalized in 1916. Elias was a salesman for (?) Levine House. Clara was a stenographer for Wholesale Cloaks.

Dorothy arrived in the U.S. with her mother, Rebecca, and her older sister, Clara, about a year after her father, Elias, arrived. She was less than a year old. She secretly married George Eisenberg in 1928 because his parents didn't want him to marry before his two older sisters. George and Dotty officially married in 1929. A good thing too as the older sisters never married. Their son Michael was born in 1931. A second child was miscarried and Dorothy was never able to have more children. Dotty and George lived in Brooklyn in an apartment with her parents living in an "in-law" apartment below. Her father died in 1933 when Mike was a young child. Rebecca lived with them and was cared for by Dorothy until her death in 1970. Dorothy died a few months later in 1970 because of a hospital error following surgery. Dorothy and George kept a kosher home out of respect for her mother who spoke only Yiddish. Dorothy was absolutely devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren on whom she lavished tremendous love and affection. She was generous with them to a fault. But anybody else, Watch Out! She had running feuds with members of her family for all kinds of imagined slights - her sister Clara for not being

Rosenfeld who was living at 97 Suffolk St. NY. His occupation was a joiner. His passage was paid by his father, and he arrived with $5.50 in his pocket. He had never been to the U.S. before. Per the 1910 NY Census, Edward (39, his wife Rebecca (35), his daughters Clara (14) and Dora (3), and his cousin Samuel Schulman (25, single)) were living at 296 Bedford Avenue. He was listed as a grocery clerk, having arrived in the US in 1906, as did Samuel, and his wife and daughters in 1907. He had a grocery store for a few years, probably at the urging of his father-in-law Jacob Tursh. He later became a paper and twine salesman. Samuel Schulman worked at framing wire. His wife Rebecca and their two daughters, Clara and Dora, followed him to the US in 1907. By 1910, he had already petitioned for his citizenship, which became finalized in 1916. In 1910, he was known as Edward, but became Elias by 1912. Per the 1920 US Census, Elias (48), Rebecca (44), Clara (22), and Dora (13) were living at 292 Bedford Avenue, Brooklyn. Elias immigrated in 1907, the girls immigrated in 1908. Elias was naturalized in 1916. Elias was a salesman for (?) Levine House. Clara was a stenographer for Wholesale Cloaks. Per the 1930 US Census, Elias Rosenfeld (55), Rebecca (51), Clara Sartisky (32), Jacques Sartisky (9), Pearleah Sartisky (5), George Eisenberg (24) and Dorothy Eisenberg (22), were living at 588 Bedford Avenue. Elias had immigrated in 1906 and was naturalized. He was a jobber in a twine factory. He was 22 when he married, Rebecca 18. Rebecca, Clara and Dorothy had immigrated in 1907. Elias, Rebecca, Clara and Dorothy had been born in Poland. Clara was a saleslady in a paper and twine factory. George had married at 24, Dorothy at 22. George was a clerk in a coal yard. Jacques, Pearleah and George were born in NY. He was buried in Mount Zion Cemetery on October 18, 1933 by the Landsman Society 'Chevre Bnei Israel Anshie Janower/Motele' , or 'the Associated Sons of Israel, Natives of Janower and Motele'. According to the gravestone marker, Elias Baruch, son of Abraham Isaac, was a Ha'Cohen. According to Mike Eisenberg, Elias was revered by the family for his intellect and his good looks.
