Agi, Arpad and his daughter committed suicide at the train station. Ági, her husband Árpád and Árpád s daughter committed suicide, when last May they wanted to deport them from Marcali. Árpád was ordered by the military to Marcali to serve there as a pharmacist. All three died
Her father Tamas found her, her husband and his granddaughter in the train station, they were all dead. They committed suicide at the station with some other friends. His daughter was a pharmacist and she gave everybody poison.

He also survived the fights for Budapest, continued to work at the Irgalmas hospital as the only surgeon of the hospital. In spite of being jewish, both the Germans and the nyilas let him work being irreplaceable . He operated day and night during the siege, caught a cold, and due to this and exhaustion his nephritis got worse day by day and he died on the 5th April.

he was a famous surgeon in Budapest and through his police connections, at the time, helped my parents to get documents to travel and immigrate to Palestine in 1935. He also got my mother the apprenticeship in the famous bakery in Budapest in 1934. His father was one of the few doctors from the Jewish hospital in Buda that was kept alive and forced operated day and night on the Germans and their Hungarian allies, all in a flooded hospital basement in Pest.
There is a famous picture in the Jewish museum in the synagogue in Budapest showing the doctors and nurses from the Jewish hospital, in Buda, that were executed by the Hungarians.
This family, like many families suffered immensely. In 1944, Tamas's father, through his connections, tried to save his daughter and son from being deported to Auschwitz. He got the right documents and ran to the railroad station in Budapest. By that time his son,19, was already on a train. He never came back. He found his daughter, her husband and his granddaughter in the train station, they were all dead. They committed suicide at the station with some other friends. His daughter was a pharmacist and she gave everybody poison. A Schindler's List like horrible moment.
he became very sick and died shortly after the war ended and Tamas was raised by his mother with the help of the remaining family, my grandmother my uncle and his wife. With the exception of Tamas I never met any of them.

Note individuelle : Tamas was a wonderful, cultured, kind and gentle man. He loved the arts and theater in particular. Most of all he loved to travel. He and his wife saved all the money they made and traveled inside the iron curtain (when travel was restricted to the west) and later all over the world.
Tamas was the last person, on my father's side , that knew and met my grandmother, my father and my uncle (Kati's grandfather from her father's side). Although he was only 10-11 years old during the war, he remembered many events about my father's family and the horrible events of the war. In 1992 when I met him for the first time he was the one that set me on the trail to locate my father's 2 sisters that survived the holocaust but died soon after, one in Sweden and one in Hungary.
